Bobbing Along is coming soon, we have a few more things to do but are almost there.

 

We are offering a fishing charter within the south east English channel. The species of fish vary from, mackerel, sea bass, conger eels, sea bream, cod and many more. We are aiming to start trading at the end of September from Newhaven marina as shown on the map below.

All are welcome aboard, Children under the age of 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult and we have very competitive pricing (see below) be ready for when we open for business and be ready to start bookings us.

 

We will be offering a variety of services and welcome the complete beginner to the hardened fishermen and ladies.  We are based at Newhaven marina and all fishing trips will start and end there. The meeting point is at the Fort Road Café. 

Parking is available around the area but be sure to pay for the full duration of your trip at the machines available in the parking areas.

 

All trips have a minimum of 6 people and a max of 10.

2 hrs  - £60 pp, min of 6 people (Mackerel fishing )

4 hr - £100 pp

Fish Species you may come across in the English Channel

COD

Cod is one of our favourites' They are generally caught from wrecks in deeper waters from October to February but do start appearing from September 

 

 

 

 

 

Angle Fish

Angelfish can be found during the spring and summer months, specifically from March through October. 

Mackerel

Mackerel in the English Channel are perfect for the beginner and experienced angler,  typically best targeted from May to  August. These migratory fish move around in shoals and are fun to catch on feathers. Perfect for a dy out with the kids.

 

Pollack

Pollack is around between January to early summer, with the peak season being from late winter through early spring. During this period, large pollack congregate on deeper offshore wrecks to feed before spawning in the spring. 

Bream

Sea bream is best during the late spring and summer months, roughly from late April to September. Black bream are typically found in shallower waters, especially around rocky reefs and wrecks, while 

 

 

Flounder

The best time to catch flounder is generally from June to February, with the peak season being from late autumn into winter (November - February). Specifically, late autumn and the period around Christmas through February are prime times for flounder. 

Sea Bass

The best time to catch sea bass is during the spring through to the autumn months. Bass migrate  before the winter months. A good spot yesterday may have nothing today. 

 

 

 

Whiting

The best time to catch whiting in the English Channel is during the autumn and winter months, particularly from October to February,

Conger Eel

Conger eels can be found during the summer and early autumn months (June to November), with some anglers preferring the shoulder seasons like spring and autumn. While conger eels can be caught year-round, these periods are known for producing larger fish and more consistent catches

Sea Bream

Wrasse

Wrasse is caught from April to September, with the peak in activity often occurring between May and August. During these months, wrasse are more actively feeding  in rocky areas and around structures. 

Pouting

Pouting is common during the summer months, particularly between June and Septembers. While they can be caught year-round, their abundance and accessibility are higher during these months

Plaice

The best time to catch plaice is from March to September. They tend to be in better condition and more plentiful from April to July, with the bigger fish showing later in the year, particularly in September and October.

Do I need to bring my own fishing gear?

We provide all fishing gear, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Our crew will ensure you have everything you need for a successful fishing trip. Rod hire is £10 per rod.

Are children allowed on the fishing charters?

Children are welcome on our fishing charters, but we recommend 1 adult for every 2 children as supervision for the safety of all passengers.
